Every day of the week except Tuesday is a perfect day (or night) to come in from 11 am – 3 pm or 5 – 11:30 pm and ask about the weekly special at Sweet Chive.
Rice on the Hill

For the nights when you want to grab something quick and affordable on the way to your hotel, Rice on the Hill has just what you need. They offer a large menu full of well-priced classics like General Tso’s and Sesame Chicken and they even accept Cashapp, Venmo and Zelle on top of the regular selection of payment options. Located on Riverside Drive, this food trailer is one of those hidden gems in Austin that you’ll have to try to believe.
Twin Lion

If you are on the search for some Asian food served up in a straight to the point kind of way, Twin Lion in North Hills is the place to go. Not only are you sure to get in and out with little stress, but if you spend 45$ on your meal, your group will receive a free order of crab rangoon. Closed on Monday, come out to Twin Lion every other day for lunch from 11 am – 2:30 pm or for dinner from 5 – 9 pm. Twin Lion is straight to the point with classic menu items that you know and love already.
Wu Chow

Authentic, farm fresh, modern Chinese food is waiting for you at Wu Chow in the IBC Bank Plaza on 5th St every day of the week for lunch. While you can only enjoy supper hours on the weekend, a trip to Wu Chow is worth a little extra planning. Monday through Friday, you can stop by from 11 am – 2 pm or 5 pm – 10 pm (dinner hours only on Saturday and Sunday) for duck, eggplant, dim sum and more. Any pallet will be able to tell the difference in a meal from Wu Chow, this food just tastes fresh!
Old Thousand

First of all, you can order a gallon bag of popcorn from Old Thousand on east 11th St/Burnet Rd and if that is not enough to tempt you, then the reimagined Chinese food menu should do the trick. Regardless of which location you take to, Old Thousand is known for their modern take on classic Chinese dishes. Only closed on Mondays, be sure to visit the website as their daily hours vary. Try out the veggie roll for a real treat that packs a punch in flavor and ask about tofu options if you need to make the meal vegetarian. No matter which location you pick, you will leave satisfied after a trip to Old Thousand.
Hunan Lion

At the Austin location on S Lamar Blvd, you can come by from 11 am through 10 pm (11 pm on the weekends) and try out smoked with an Asian twist! Combining two of our favorite ways to eat, barbecue and Asian style elements meet to create an unforgettable meal at Loro. Come in during happy hour (2-5 pm) on a nice day and see if you can snag a table on their giant patio.

Look into the house specials selection to save a few bucks and get practically double in portion sizes for what you’re paying. 888 Pan Asian Restaurant

Ling Kitchen on Research Blvd is an experience, complete with a chef preparing your food right beside your party. Make sure to call and reserve your spot for up to ten guests at a time as they do not accept walk in groups. Ling Kitchen caters to the non-vegan folks in Austin, Ling Kitchen is only for the carnivores! Gather up your favorite meat eaters for a dinner that is upscale and unmatched in its performative preparation style.
Kiin Di

South Lamar Blvd is truly an oasis of Asian style eateries and Kiin Di adds to the list with a Thai menu that while simple, is effective. Starting off with appetizers like chicken wings and vegetable rolls, you might not even make it to the full meals like their “Dang! Curry” before filling up. Don’t come out this way for lunch as they are only open from 3 pm – 10 pm every night except Monday and Tuesday. When you want something straight to the point with a menu that won’t overwhelm, you can get everything you need from Kiin Di.
Tuk Tuk Thai Cafe

There’s no going wrong with authentic Thai food served in the most simple way and Tuk Tuk Thai Cafe is ready to serve your party every day of the week. Whether you come in for lunch from 11 am – 2:45 pm or from 4:30 – 8:45 pm for dinner, you can’t miss with anything on their menu. Sushi, noodles, seafood, and curry are a small handful of what their selection offers.
Muse Fusion and Sushi

When you want a sushi experience that is a level up from the normal buffet bar, Muse Fusion and Sushi has everything you need, including a love for the art of sushi and cooking in general. You can’t go wrong with dine in, take out or delivery from 11 am – 9 pm every day at Muse. Start out with an appetizer of squid, seaweed or crab salad and make your way through a selection of rolls that include (but aren’t limited to) Spicy Tuna or Crawdaddy. Just one look at the menu will have your mouth watering, the only hard part is making one choice when it comes to Muse Fusion and Sushi.
1618 Asian Fusion

Classic Asian fusion meals pair up with cocktails at 1618 Asian Fusion on E Riverside Drive for a fun time that will make you want to stay and hang out for a while. Once you step inside of this contemporary location, you may have a tough time stopping yourself from staring at all that their walls have to offer in the way of decor. The folks at 1618 claim to have the “Best Asian Food in Austin” and we will let you be the judge of that. Casual but exciting, the Austin based owners set out to provide you with a bit of culture while showing off their meal choices in what feels like an upscale presentation without the insane upscale prices. Come in sometime between 10 am – 9:30 pm every day and find out what makes 1618 a great spot to relax with friends. Be sure to note that they offer the best dumplings in the city of Austin!
West China Tea House

Though this is not an Asian food establishment, there is something to be said about having a traditional sit-down tea with those you love. At West China Tea House on N Interstate Highway, you can book an indoor or outdoor tea ceremony and learn tons about the culture surrounding the entire process. Try out something that is as educational as it is fun with a reservation at West China Tea House!
