Halloween in Austin on the Party Bike
Halloween 2026 lands on a Saturday, and 6th Street turns into the biggest costume crowd in Texas. The problem is getting fifteen people in costume to the same place at the same time. The bike fixes it. Meet at one address, ride downtown for two hours with your own music and your own cooler, hit two partner bars, and step off two blocks from the barricades right as the street gets good.

The Halloween Plan
6th Street on Halloween night. Last year the Austin Police Department closed 6th Street to cars from San Jacinto to Red River, plus Neches and Trinity between 5th and 7th, from 7 pm to 4 am, with barricades at the ends and full downtown staffing. No cover, no ticket, you walk in. The 2026 plan usually goes up the week of, so look for it around October 29 and expect something close to that map. Leave real swords and anything steel at home; foam is fine.
Why the bike first. Our rides leave from 806 San Jacinto Blvd at 8th, across from the Omni, two blocks north of where last year's closure started. Your group meets at one address, in costume, at one time. The ride runs a little over two hours with two stops at local partner bars (Bull's Irish Pub, Casino El Camino and Green Light Social are all on our list), and it ends with everyone stepping off together, two blocks from the barricades, with the costumes already photographed in daylight and under the lights.
The numbers. Halloween is a Saturday, so a private bike is $395 for up to 15 people, and that is the Friday-and-Saturday rate. Public seats are $35 each if you only have a few people. It is BYOB with cans and plastic only, no glass, and we bring the coolers and the ice. Everybody needs an ID, 18 to ride and 21 to drink. A private bike runs your own playlist, which on Halloween means somebody is in charge of the Monster Mash. Full refund with 14 days' notice, one free reschedule if you ask at least two days out and move it within a week. Book the Saturday slot before someone else's bachelorette does.
After the ride. Flamingo Cantina at 515 E 6th is turning 35 on Halloween night, with the Mau Mau Chaplains from 9 pm and free entry with a costume. Casino El Camino next door at 517 E 6th does the $15.50 Amarillo burger until 2 am, but go early, because at 10 pm on Halloween a group of twelve ordering burgers is a fantasy. Getting home: the closure runs until 4 am and rideshare drivers won't fight their way to the barricade, so set your pickup pin a few blocks out and walk to it. The full plan, with the week's other events, is in our Halloween in Austin 2026 guide.
